SLP Private Practice in Color began as a Facebook Group to create a safe space for clinicians of color to connect, network, and mentor as practitioners who have or are seeking to establish his or her own Private Practice. The data shows that only 7.9% of ASHA Certified Speech-Language Pathologist constituents identify as a minority. Our journey has quickly expanded to include actively advocating for increased diversity and dismantling of racial inequities that allow for disparities within our field. Please embark with us upon this journey towards Equity for all. Let's Grow Together.

We will be covering a wide range of topics such as insurance, claims, or the revenue cycle. After 15+ yrs of working in the corporate world of medical insurance and practice management, seeing all of the changes that the pandemic brought gave me the courage to finally step out on my own and offer my services to a larger group of providers. I took the leap and opened Monte Medical Billing, LLC - an all encompassing Virtual Healthcare Administrative company with one mission: Help you help your community. With extensive experience in everything from credentialing to claims billing to full practice management and more, Monte Medical Billing is available to support independent providers & small private practices. We're proud to specialize in Speech Therapy & Mental Health, but continue to service providers across many specialties. In addition to our ever-evolving Education and Consultation services, we're also excited to announce our recent OMWBE Certification: Monte Medical Billing is now recognized as a Black Minority Woman Owned Enterprise in the State of Washington! Insurance companies make things complicated on purpose; an uneducated patient or provider makes for a lucrative one, so they're hoping you stay that way. And while it might be controversial to mention in many circles, I've never met a provider who's spent hours on hold with an insurance company disagree with me when I say: "Our healthcare system needs a major overhaul!" Patient advocacy has been a passion of mine for years; having personally experienced family members not receive the care or therapies they deserve has driven me to work my hardest to see that it doesn't happen to anyone else.
